We will meet every 4 - 5 weeks for a total of 9 months
Friday/Saturday weekends meet on Fridays, 5:30 - 9:30pm and Saturdays, 8:30am - 6:30pm

 About the Program 

The Moonbow Yoga & Wellness 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training program offers a holistic mind/body approach to practicing and teaching yoga. The curriculum combines the ancient wisdom of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras and the 8 Limbs of Yoga, with the importance of daily self-care, emotional connectivity and creative exploration. Students will evolve into the role of teacher through dedicated self-study, group work, community teaching, and supportive mentorship. The comprehensive program also includes:

  • Basic principles of alignment and proper adjustments

  • Teaching methodology for intelligent sequencing and meaningful classes

  • Functional and subtle anatomy as they apply to teaching yoga

  • Breathing practices, guided relaxations, meditations, and restorative yoga poses

  • Ayurvedic principles

  • Mantra, mudra, and yogic lore

  • Essential oils for asana, meditation, and everyday wellness

  • Understanding the business of yoga and classroom ethics

Creativity is at the heart of the Moonbow journey. As a YTT student, you will be inspired to creatively thread the roots of yoga with modern practices, while also adding your own significant spice that aligns with your authentic nature and life purpose. We will also integrate journaling and aromatherapy to enhance the creative flow and mind/body wellness. With your commitment and participation, you will be ready to best meet the needs of today’s yoga audience with safety, meaningful intention, confidence, and joy.   

The program will culminate in November 2019 with a long training weekend and celebration at the Canaan Valley Resort in beautiful, serene Tucker County, WV. The cost of this weekend is included in the tuition and students will lodge together in the comfortable deluxe cabins. Our training sessions will take place at the resort conference center and, weather permitting, outdoors in the Canaan Valley State Park. Some meals will be provided. (www.canaanresort.com) 

The Moonbow Yoga and Wellness 200-hour YTT program (formerly 3rd Street Yoga) is part of a Yoga Alliance Certified school. Students that fulfill all program requirements will receive a certificate of completion and can register with Yoga Alliance.

How to Register 

Prerequisite: students should have at least 2 years of a regular, devoted yoga practice prior to enrolling in the YTT program. 
An application must be completed to register for the 2019 YTT program. 

Application Deadline: January 22, 2019


2019 Tuition & Deposit 

The total tuition for the YTT program is $2,800.  

We strive to make this program accessible to all with discounts for early registration, payment plans, and a work-study scholarship (see details below). 

Program Deposit: $400 is due within 3 days of acceptance into the program, $100 of which is non-refundable. The deposit will hold your space in the 2019 program and it will be deducted from the total tuition rate. It will be paid directly to Heidi Sherwin via Venmo.com. 

Tuition Balance must be paid in full by February 3, 2019, unless student opts for one of the following: 

Early Bird Discount

$300 discount when you pay in full by January 4, 2019 | $2500 total commitment ($400 deposit + $2100 tuition) 

Monthly Payment Plan

10 monthly auto-payments, based on $2400 remaining balance (after deposit) | $240/month, February 3 – November 3, 2019. All payments will be made to Heidi Sherwin, via Venmo.com.

Scholarship Opportunity 
A work-study scholarship, with a discounted tuition rate, will be granted to one registered trainee. The work-study opportunity includes the agreement that the student will help the program instructor and guest teachers, arrive early and stay late on training days to help set up and take down equipment, coordinate the Community Yoga Class schedule, and assist with other organizational tasks, as needed, during the program. If a student does not receive the scholarship, he/she will still have the opportunity to pay the Early Bird Discount or sign up for the monthly payment plan.

About the Instructor 

Heidi Sherwin is a caring and highly skilled yoga teacher registered with Yoga Alliance at the ERYT-200 and R-PYT levels. She has been inspired by the philosophical and physical practices of yoga for over 20 years. Yoga and holistic health are her GPS for navigating through life with mindfulness, emotional well-being, self-care, and joy.  

Heidi’s sincere, fun and creative teaching style blends together the spiritual roots of Hatha Yoga, holistic health principles, playful expression, and awakened breathing. She provides a positive space for students to connect with their authentic inner GPS, so they can rejuvenate, and nurture their body, mind and spirit with joy and ease.  

Heidi completed her 200-hour yoga training with Joanne VandenHengel from 3rd Street Yoga (2009), and her Pre/Postnatal yoga training with Sharon Fennimore from Yoga Matrika (2011). In 2009, she helped co-create the yoga program at BlissBlissBliss in Morgantown, WV. The program set into motion a space where the phrase “Yoga for everyBODY" was truth and continues to be its mission. Heidi’s passion and interest in women-centered wellness inspired her to start the BlissMama Yoga Program, which includes pre and postnatal yoga classes and a birthing workshop for partners.  

From 2011 – 2015, Heidi was the apprentice to her mentor, Joanne VandenHengel, and served as an assistant instructor for 3rd Street Yoga’s 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Program. In 2016, Heidi transitioned to Lead Instructor and now facilitates the 200-hour curriculum under her personal business, Moonbow Yoga and Wellness.  She currently offers her teacher trainings at BlissBlissBliss. 

When not on the yoga mat, Heidi may be found using her essential oils, crafting, cooking, singing to her three daughters, or spending downtime in the NOW with her supportive husband and family.
