Yoga for Athletes Workshop

Athletes are already fit, so why Yoga for Athletes? Yoga practices support our mind/body fitness by refining focus and mental control, improving balance and proprioception (both essential to sports), enhancing muscle flexibility and joint mobility, and developing breath awareness. In this workshop, we will intentionally target areas that feel the brunt of most fitness and sport activities: the hips, shoulders, core, glutes, and legs. Balancing postures will be included to add an element of play, empowerment, and core stability. Breathing and mindfulness practices will be introduced to support the “mind over matter” demands one may face in athletic pursuits. The workshop will conclude with a restoring guided relaxation.
