Greetings Moonbow Friends!
Here’s what I have been musing about lately…
I hope this Moonbow Musing finds you well as we greet September. Transitions are abundant now – adjusting to the new school year and work/home routines. We are also on the doorstep of Autumn, which offers beautiful shifts in nature and a reminder that change and transformation are life’s constant friends. As I steer the course through transitional times, I am often reminded of two powerful sayings:
“Everything happens in its perfect time.”
“Within the chaos lies perfection.”
Seasonal changes and Back-to-School time are obvious transitional periods. Ultimately, every breath, every moment offers an opportunity to respond to change and chaos. All the little intentions and actions we set in motion throughout our day support us during bigger transformational life events. Each moment, this now, with all its noise or silence, hot or cold, messiness or spotlessness, as-planned or trash-the-plan qualities is perfect as is. Perfection arises in the attitude we bring to the present. A bad attitude will make even the best possible scenario seem sour. A positive attitude will, you know the saying, make lemonade out of lemons.
Learning to Lean In
If you don’t know this already about me, I have a teensy bit of Type A personality and enjoy planning, organizing, tidying up, and creating. These qualities sometimes bite me in the gluteus maximus, resulting in maximum feelings of agitation and impatience. When a situation is becoming chaotic from my perspective, I have been known to panic.
But not every time.
When I choose to lean into an experience with more inquiry and less fear, I notice an allowance of time that is more gentle than forced. When I allow myself to loosen the reins of control and look for new possibilities and support from others, I notice a flow of events that ultimately makes more sense for all involved. Awakening to the positive potential of chaos and change sharpens my ability to discern more appropriate ways to use my energy and skills in service to others and mySELF.
You see, we’re all just doing what we can, when we can, as best we can. Sometimes it looks like a Southern Living magazine and other times Not.So.Much.
Whether you flow through transitions with ease or stumble, tumble down the path, I want you to know: YOU’RE DOING AWESOME! At any moment, tides will turn and you’ll be at the other end of the spectrum – and still know, YOU’RE DOING AWESOME!
Cheers to you and all you do!
