Greetings Moonbow Friends!
Here’s what I have been musing about lately…
Last week, the Kindness is Key Yoga Retreat took flight in Ireland along the western coast in Co. Clare. Ireland truly had me at Hello from the first glimpse while flying over the mesmerizing green landscape. During the retreat week at The Cliffs of Moher Retreat center, the combination of yoga, delectable meals, Co. Clare adventures, massages, relaxing downtime, and friendly conversations created a recipe that nourished our souls. The entire experience exceeded my vision of what my first international yoga retreat would be like with True Nature Travels.
Since returning to my home in Morgantown, WV, I have been reflecting on the ways a yoga retreat enhances one’s quality of life. The list is long, so I have narrowed it down to 3 for ease, and labeled each based on the symbolism of the Celtic Claddagh ring. I learned that the Claddagh ring was originally created in Galway, the hometown of “Lisa from Ireland” (an enduring nickname that came to life when Lisa lived in Morgantown). Lisa was a participant and guest teacher during the retreat, and is a Moonbow YTT alum, as well as simply a down-right amazing human being. So how fitting that her hometown is known for a ring design that represents Love, Loyalty, and Friendship.
3 Gems of Yoga Retreats
While on retreat, you get to spend each day doing what YOU love! Wake up and practice yoga, eat delicious meals, choose your own adventures that might include walks, hikes, surfing, biking, and/or simply slowing down with a good book or knitting supplies. Fall in love with the natural beauty of the local landscape, learn about the region’s culture and history, and awaken a sense of place that will be cherished in your life.
One participant on the Kindness is Key retreat shared that the week in Ireland was like “taking a life nap”. What a fantastic concept! Taking time for YOU to recharge and rejuvenate is pure loyalty amidst the go-go-go of modern living. Retreats naturally invite you to take care while treating yourself with kindness and allowing for rest and play each day. Through this intentional loyalty to self-wellness, one may better have the energy, joy, and commitment to pay it forward to others.
Yoga retreats offer a non-judgmental space to connect with others. In the spirit of friendship, participants get to show up as is and are appreciated as is. Within the group, you may know a few others or be a stranger to all. No matter the group dynamic, prior labels are removed so you can Simply.Be.You. Each day, you are encouraged to follow your bliss, whatever that might look like – from group activities to quiet solitude.
I would love to hear from you! What do you seek in a Yoga Retreat? If you have attended a retreat, in what ways did it nourish your soul?

ESSENTIAL OIL MUSING
Sometimes we cannot get away for a yoga retreat to press PAUSE on over-active, high stress schedules. Each day, you can take a breathing break, sip some tea, or get outside for a few moments. These small actions are like mini-retreats for the greater good of your mind/body wellness.
Throughout the month of October, doTerra is offering 20% Roman Chamomile. We all know chamomile tea as a relaxing, calming choice during a stressful day or when struggling to rest. The essential oil, Roman Chamomile, offers the same chillaxin vibe. Try a drop of the oil in lotion and massage on your feet at bedtime, or add to your face moisturizer to soothe the skin. Combine Roman Chamomile, Lavender, and Wild Orange in a diffuser to inspire a Hakuna Matata, no worries, kind of mood.
